Water softener installation for Indiana homes

A water softener addresses hardness minerals that contribute to scale and spots. We size a system around your water conditions and household use.

Start with your home.

Hardness, household size and water use matter. Your assessment helps us recommend capacity and explain salt use, upkeep and installation requirements.

Equipment options vary by your water and installation.

What goes into sizing a water softener?

Tell us how many people live in your home and how many bathrooms you have. For city water, we use your utility's hardness number. We also look at plumbing access, peak demand and space for the equipment. A model that fits another home may not be the right match for yours.

What should your installation quote include?

Ask for the equipment model, proposed location, plumbing work, startup, owner orientation and any changes needed to the existing setup. Have salt use, maintenance and warranty terms explained in writing before choosing a system.

Softening and filtration serve different purposes

A softener addresses hardness. If your main concern is drinking-water taste or an odor, discuss carbon filtration or reverse osmosis separately. A private well needs a treatment plan based on its own water conditions.

For private wells, testing may be needed before recommending treatment. An initial assessment is not a laboratory safety certification.
